Louden, Louis

Louis was a strong armed catcher and consistent hitter played with the New York Cubans from 1942 to 1950.  He batted .290 for the 1947 Negro National League champions.

He was discoverd on the New York playgrounds by Alex Pompez and went directly to the Cubans.  He played on the 1947, 1948, and 1950 All Star teams and was also a member of the 1948-49 Willie Mays All Star team (he was the only member of the squad who was not in the major leagues).
