Pinkston, Alfred - AlALFRED ‘AL’ PINKSTON

After years of touring with black teams, Al played very briefly in the Negro Leagues as a member of the 1948 Cleveland Buckeyes.
At age 35 in 1952, he became the second triple crown winner in Provincial League history. At 42, he joined the Mexico City Reds, and won Mexican League batting titles his first four seasons, with marks of .369, .397, .374, and .381.
When he missed his fifth title, it was with a .368 average. He retired at age 48. In 1975 he became the first American player elected to the Mexican League Hall of Fame.
