As manager for the Indianapolis Clowns, Buster Haywood helped discover Hank Aaron in 1951 when Buster’s Clowns played against Hank and the semipro Mobile Black Bears. In 1952, Aaron, began playing for the Negro American League’s Indianapolis Clowns under manager Buster Haywood. |
