DICK ‘Cannonball’ REDDING

Born: 1891
Died: 1948

Cannonball was one of the premier pitchers of the early Negro Leagues. In 1911, at the age of twenty, he won seventeen consecutive games in his rookie season and compiled a 43-12 record in his second season.

His career spanned from 1911 through 1938, playing for various teams including the Philadelphia Giants, NY Lincoln Giants, Brooklyn Royal Giants, Chicago American Giants, Indianapolis ABC’s and the Atlantic City Bacharachs.
