RAFAEL ‘RAY’ NOBLE

Born: March 15, 1922
Died: May 9, 1998

A Cuban veteran of the Negro National League, Ray was signed by the Jersey City Giants after they had seen him play for the New York Cubans.

As a Catcher with the New York Giants from 1951-53, Noble capably backed up catcher Wes Westrum during the Giants' drive toward their "miracle" 1951 pennant.
