RAYMOND ‘RAUL’ NAVARRO

Died: Dec. 1999

Raul Navarro played for the Negro League Cincinnati Clowns / Indianapolis Clowns in 1945 & 1946 as a catcher and outfielder. He also had some playing time as an infielder.

He was a 25 year old when he joined the Clowns in 1945, but he brought a year of experience from playing in the Cuban Winter League for the Havana Reds.

He settled in a town call Los Mochis, Sinaloa Mexico.  There he met and married Rebecca Flores Navarro, fathered 7 children, and continued playing in the Latin Leagues.

He went on to have a succesful career playing for the "Diablos Rojos de Mexico" in Mexico City. He then played for "Los Caneros de Los Mochis.
