Inkster had a very good team in the forties but I can't recall the name of the team. "Sonny" Andrews, who resided there, and who I played with in Detroit and in Canada played for on the team.

The Inkster Panthers were organized in 1946, & were managed by Yancey L. Gray who is now managing them again in 1954. I have a photo of the 1954 team with Leon "Daddy Wags" Wagner & Molly Wade, the only woman in semi-pro baseball in the photo. I also have a score card where they played the House Of David on September 1, 1955 in Frankfort & lost 7-6. Names on the Score card were J. C. Hartman, Watson, Miller, Achtison, Marton, Haley, Reed, Louis, Wilder & Plase. Other players were Kittendorf, Lyle Hornsby, Mickey McKinley, Jim Wressel, Don Favreau, Finan, Anderson, Soderquist & Blacklock. Regards, Wayne Stivers

Sir: I have some original Inkster Colored Panther baseball memorabilia. They travelled north to play Frankfort and in the National Baseball Congress tourney when it was in Frankfort, located thirty miles south of Traverse City. J.C. Hartman, who later played with the Houston Colt 45s and Leon Wagner, who had 211 career major league homers, were on that team. Please advise. Sincerely, Pete Sandman

Hello: I am interested in the Blacklock and Soderquist men. Is there anything you can tell me about them? I am working on a family tree and Blacklock and Soderquist are names of interest to me, especially when from Michigan. Thank you, Barbara in Michigan
