Bill Jackman, posted by Dick Thompson on 8/2/2005 1:01:20 PM
I have begun work on what I hope will turn into a full biography of Bill Jackman, legendary hurler for the Philadelphia Giants team that played in southeastern Massachusetts and toured New England in the 1920s and 1930s. So far I have located 127 pitching boxscores for Jackman, and my initial sense is that all of the stories about him were true. If anyone has any material on Jackman, his batterymate Burlin White, or the Philly Giants (often referred to as the Boston Royal Giants beginning in 1934), I would greatly appreciate it.

I am now approaching 250 boxscores of Jackman's pitching games. I would very much appreciate hearing from anyone with information on him.

Current tally on Jackman is 191 wins and 81 losses in 325 recovered boxscores. Date range is 1925-1951. Anyone have anything prior to 1925?
