JESSE ‘MOUNTAIN’ HUBBARD

Jesse was a light complexion part-Indian and almost passed for white. The New York Giants sent him to their farm team and tried to pass him off as white but no one was willing to rsik signing him.  He played his entire career in the Negro Leagues from 1917 to 1935 for the Brooklyn Royal Giants (1917-26), Hilldale Daisies (1919 & 1930), New York Lincoln Giants (1923), Baltimore Black Sox (1928-29), Homestead Grays (minors 1931) and New York Black Yankees (1932-33).
