PEDRO FORMENTAL

An outfielder with the Memphis Red Sox (1947-50), he was a good hitter (.342 in 1949), with home-run power and good speed.

In the 3 seasons prior to joining Memphis he played with Vera Cruz and San Luis in the Mexican League, hitting .345,.362 and .384.

He was also a star in Cuba,where he compiled a lifetime average of .274 for 13 years, mostly with Havana.
