The 2005 class of the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame was announced this weekend.
Deceased Negro League pitcher Smokey Joe Williams will join the 2005 class, which will be inducted in a ceremony at Houston's J.W. Marriott Hotel on Nov. 11, 2005. 

Other inductees include knuckleballer Joe Niekro, who remains the winningest pitcher in Astros history, former Astro Bob Aspromonte and Detroit Tigers catcher Ivan Rodriguez, a 10-time Gold Glove winner and 1999 American League MVP who played his first 12 seasons with the Rangers before joining the Florida Marlins for a 2003 World Series title.
