PATRICIO ‘PAT’ SCANTLEBURY

Born: Nov. 11, 1917
Died: May 21, 1991

Pat Scantlebury, who played with the New York Cubans from 1944 to 1950, says that despite tough living and playing conditions, he enjoyed playing Negro Leagues baseball.  Pat was an East-West All Star in 1949 and 1950.

Pat eventually made it to the major leagues in 1956 when played briefly with the Cincinnati Reds where he posted an 0-1 record in six games.
