EMILIO PALMERO

Emilio Palmero, a Cuban pitcher who because of his light skin passed for white and was one of the first non-Caucasians in the majors.

Being signed by John McGraw's Giants in 1914 was such big news in Cuba that Palmero wrote to the Mayor of his hometown Guanabaco on May 5, 1914 to inform them.
