JIMMY DEAN

Played 1946 to 1950 - Jimmy Dean was known as "The Original." He was a pitcher with the Philadelphia Stars, the New York Black Yankees and the New York Cubans.

A power pitcher, Dean had a hard sinker and a curve ball which allowed him to pile up some impressive strikeout totals against some of the great names of baseball, including Willie Mays, Lary Doby, Ernie Banks, Joe Black and Roy Campanella before retiring in 1953.
